In his transition from lead singer of the quartet NEGROS to soloist,
Wason has worked diligently to find his voice. ALMA MIA, an expose of
songs composed by Wason (one of the most original songwriters on the
scene), not only showcases Wason’s unique musical persona – it brings
to light a rising star who is poised for mainstream recognition. The album
contains hits composed by Wason, but made popular by artists such as El
Torito (“Loca conmigo”) and Domenic Marte & Gio (“Ven tu”). It also includes
plenty of new material – “Sufriendo de amor” (lead single from the
album), “La casa sin ti,” “Sin por lo menos tocarte” among others, which
will surely define ALMA MIA as Wason’s finest work to date. Under the
auspices of producers Pachy Carrasco (Wason’s musical director), Antonio
Gonzalez, Chris Hierro and Angel Fernandez, the album is rich and varied –
from merengue, to ballad, to rock-influenced ballad, to reggae.
